About the event
The Midwest Innocence Project educates, advocates for and obtains the exoneration and release of wrongfully convicted people in Arkansas, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska. The MIP is an independent innocence organization that is a part of the national Innocence Network. Partnering with law firms, law schools, and student volunteers, they provide the very best representation at no cost to innocent people within this region.
Tish Sjuts, Development and Strategic Communications Manager, has been with the MIP since 2019 and specializes in events, grant writing, and educational efforts. She is passionate about getting the community involved in innocence work. Tish’s presentation will define what a wrongful conviction is, how it impacts individuals and communities, and the process for overturning a wrongful conviction. Please join us.
